I understand that there is a huge deficit. I understand that cuts need to be made. I also know that the town of Joplin, Missouri was pretty much wiped off the map a few days ago, and as tax-paying citizens who have been rendered homeless, jobless, and heartbroken by mother nature, they deserve more than the middle finger from Eric Cantor and his cronies on Capitol Hill. Mother Nature just boned Joplin in the tuckus without any K-Y or a kiss, and now Cantor is perfectly OK with the federal government doing the same.
If that is truly Eric Cantor’s feeling about aiding disaster-stricken citizens of this country, he does not deserve the privellege of serving in such a high political office. I hope the voters of Virginia remember his words at election time, and I hope no disasters befall their state under Cantor’s watch.

Unreal. You’re right- the destruction is truly heartbreaking, and Cantor’s statement is inconceivable.
Maybe we can offset the supplemental by redirection of his congressional pay, perks & benefits, because he sure as hell isn’t representing the people.

I watched on tv all day yesterday and just can not watch these, like you said..it makes you crazy, raises ye olde blood pressure and the possibility of me stroking out over it exists. Whole families were killed. Whole neighborhoods wiped out and it hit all levels of income.
My son lives in tornado alley..in southern OK and in a wobbly box to boot. Even their local news is saying this is the worst season ever in the history of collecting tornado data..since 1950. It started in friggin winter fer christs sake. It’s just begun and its only going to get worse.
It’s happening again today..and it’s making me nuts I can’t call him 50 times a day, he’s trying to work (hes a plumber).
