You Too Can Own This Artistic Masterpiece……………….UPDATED Update!!!!

David Bugnon’s Twitter account and website are now back, with an explanation of  how his art has been “misinterpreted” and how that Photoshop (because no matter how hard he tries to make “fetch” happen, the word is still photo SHOP, not photo CHOP) disaster of his was not a blatant rip-off of an Assassin’s Creed character, but a loving, slaved-over tribute to Fallen Conservative Warrior and Deeply Missed Hate-Tweeter Andrew Breitbart:

“I started it on the day he died. I thought Andrew was a warrior for the truth and I was very sad to hear of his passing. I was inspired to do a photo “chop” tribute for Andrew. Photo “chopping is an artform, it’s what I do. I never intended to market the picture and did not want to refer to it as a painting (it’s a photo manipulation in combination with illustration and rendering),and I never put a price tag on it, I was just going to post it on Freaking News for a Photoshop contest. My main error in judgement was signing a release for it to be sold, (50% of the proceeds were to go to the Breitbart children’s fund). I sincerely regret my decision and apologize to everyone involved, those that pre-ordered, and those offended by the use of a portion of the copyrighted image.

I did not just plop Andrews head on the knight image, I worked on it for months in my spare time, re-creating every belt, rivet, cloth item,leather armor and did much cleanup and rendering to the metal armor. It was totally re-worked. I kept the pose and look of the knight image, because I liked it and tried to mimic it. Also, every hair and whisker on the head was re-created, the skin and eyes too. I’ve learned an important lesson and will be very prudent in selecting my source images in the future.
This project started out with only good intentions for a tribute to Andrew and it ended up doing just the opposite. I was not trying to pull anything sinster off or fool anyone. Life is ups and downs, and sometimes you make mistakes, and this has been a wake-up call for me. I can only be thankful to those pointing out my error, and that it never went to print.

Might have been a tad more helpful if he’d done THIS (click the little one to get the big one),

like Electronics Fanboy did, but that really doesn’t help his case, so OOOPS.

The blurb for his “Picture Galleries” has been changed, also…….no mention now of his Zazzle store, only a statement that he does “commission work” and to contact him for quotes.

Is he sincere?

I don’t know.

 Wanting to help the Breitbart kids is kind of noble I guess, since there is a pretty good chance Shirley Sherrod is going to own them when her case gets to court……but there are other pressing causes he could have sold away his work for……like anti-bullying causes that help keep kids from killing themselves. But knowing Breitbart’s kids will continue to profit off his lies, propaganda, and hate speech is cool too, I guess. Let’s hear it for a legacy of bigotry and manipulation! Fuck yeah!!!!!!!!

Also, too, there is that whole “Libertarian/Conservative, Freedom & Common Sense. Anti-Progressive. Artist for and member of The Mob. #God #Guns#Constitution #teaparty personal responsibility-hating whiny OWS liberals are ruining America“ drum he likes to bang like Charlie Sheen at an escort convention that makes you wonder……….. how is it that a dude who spends so much time excoriating liberals as clueless, irresponsible screw-ups who have to have Big Daddy Gubmint tell them when to eat, wipe their ass, and pay their bills winds up not being personally responsible enough himself to read the fine print on a rights negotiation for his artwork or better yet, insist that there be no fine print to begin with?

I  DO know that after reading his Twitter page, his fawning homage to Breitbart on the Patriot Depot listing, and the “I’m too cool for school and liberals” attitude dripping from his own website bio , I am inclined to think that it would be a big, fat “ZERO” on the Sincerity Meter, and I am also inclined to think that if a liberal blogger had, for example, been busted for  Photoshopping Ted Kennedy’s head onto some obscure third-tier video game character’s body, changing a few colors, adding clouds and celestial lighting , slapping a “Preserving Camelot from the Ravages of Conservatardism” motto with some stars and stripes on a sash to “Johnny America” it up and then fliping the image so that they could yell “SEE, my guy isn’t even FACING THE SAME WAY!!!!! “ as a defense……..well, David Bugnon would be ripping that libtard  a well-deserved new conservative asshole like the Motherfucking Pterodactyl  .

I also know that anyone who seriously declares “I thought Andrew was a warrior for the truth” when speaking of Andrew Breitbart ,and who glosses over the blatant video  manipulations of Hannah Giles (and totally omits mention of her disgraced partner in crime James O’Keefe altogether)  is a douchebag who needs his head examined in the first place………
