I follow Chris Rock on the Book of Faces, and he made a status out of one of his Tweets yesterday.

I laughed my ass off. Snarky, funny, ironic, and TRUE.

I didn’t get the sense he was trying to bust the chops of Caucasians or make them feel bad for celebrating Independence Day, just humorously pointing out that it’s a mixed bag for minorities .

But apparently some people did take offense, and they berated the comedian for being racist, divisive, and unpatriotic, and a bit of a brouhaha has erupted.

Some blogger I’ve never heard of (he’s a Libertarian, no wonder) named Jeff Schrieber had this to angrily say to Rock:

…………..while someone named David  Burge had this snappy comeback:

“Good one! I bet your Guatemalan house staff got a good chuckle.”

Ha ha! Because Chris Rock is RICH and totally like Donald trump, who has a house staff bigger than the crew of Rock’s last film and who openly stated that he will NEVER change a diaper for any of his children EVER. Chris Rock has a basement FULL of Guatemalan  he keeps in line by posting the ICE hotline numbers all over his house!!!!

Back and forth the internet went, both supportive and condemning, but perhaps the most sensible response in the “Twiterverse” belonged to  Elon James White, who asked this simple question:

WAS he wrong?
Only a historical idiot would answer that with a “yes”, but  it is HIGHLY evident that we are awash in historical idiots.  For the sake of those idiots, White further breaks it down for the Huffington Post:

“I find this Chris Rock backlash absolutely ridiculous. Really? Someone tells the truth and you mad? I’m American. I never claim otherwise. I never give the “We didn’t land on Plymouth rock” speech unless its in a really funny way. But part of being American, to me, is that I have to acknowledge all the bullshit that comes with it. Basically some folks came over, stole other people’s land, killed them, then started a country on the backs of my people, while killing them, and then at some point they freed the slaves but then oppressed them and killed them some more. Do I have the ability to do things here that I wouldn’t in some parts of the world? Yes. But my family paid the price for that in actual blood, sweat and tears. If more people were like Rock and acknowledged the truth maybe we’d be in a better place as a Nation.”

We live in a nation where stupid people read a news story about a mostly white town that is upset because a group of racist pastors plastered their city (in the middle of the night, so as not to be seen!) with flyers for a three-day “whites only” pastor’s conference that will end with a “Sacred Christian Cross Lighting Ceremony”, and decide that the main point of the story is that “there’s no Miss White America Pageant or NAAWP” and  “Al Sharpton doesn’t care about white people” ……..

……….rather than the fact that supposed “men of God” are openly practicing racism and bringing it to a town that by and large wants NO PART OF IT .

Yeah, stupid people ABOUND, so sometimes a brother like Elon just has to break it down for them, and even then they STILL don’t get it.

It was a fucking joke, with a back-story of truth, and instead of being able to see the irony and the humor of it, people have to get all White Man’s Burden-y  and spill their clueless Butthurt-itis all over the internet.

LAUGH, motherfuckers.

The shit was funny.

You know, this might just be the time for a NAAWP – for the purposes of learning about reality. There are a lot of white people (whipes?) who don’t get it. Having a black POTUS has not changed anything. Gun sales go through the roof, can’t keep bullets stocked are very good examples of things that need to be understood for what they mean. A poster promising a christian cross burning is yet another dumbass thing to defend. There should be a higher standard – rising above racism. Who would take us there?

But it would never turn out like I’m thinking – no more fox news. Yeah, that won’t work.

Alright, I just saw the news story on the town and they interview the “pastor” of the “church.” Truly inspirational, gross.

Don’t you just feel the glory and redemption of Christ’s love just flowing from his every pore?????
      Mmmm, mmmm……JESUS!

(I’m sure He is weeping at this fool’s shenanigans)

I thought Chris Rock’s comment was hilarious. and it seems to me that the folks expressing butthurt are the same folks who ALWAYS express butthurt in these situtations. Saw a brief excerpt of Malkin on Fox going off. And then Herman Cain said something truly head scratching and assinine defending the right wings hurt feelings. Something about without the revolution in 1776 that black folks might still be slaves in this country. And it was only because white folks got their freedom first, that blacks got theirs. As I said, headscratching. Especially considering England freed their slaves decades before Abe Lincoln did. And then there was that whole Civil War thing.

As much as I dislike the phrase, I’m going to use it:
Herman Cain is an Uncle Tom who wouldn’t understand American history if it came with flash cards and a Dr. Seuss poem. Schoolhouse Rock is beyond his comprehension level. And Micichelle Malkin needs to pull her head out of her ass and realize that to an awful lot of her audience, she is viewed as “one of the GOOD gooks.” If she wants to know what her target audience really thinks of her, she should peruse the comments on Free Republic from time to time.
