Come on in and get dirty.

This blog is a reflection of me – sometimes political, sometimes maternal, sometimes silly; very opinionated, and quite often with a ” busted edit button” (Did she just say “douchebag“? You bet your sweet ass I did!!). My topics may vary, but I’ll always be me  –  which is an adventure in itself.

My name is Denise, and I’m a soon-to-be 43-year-old mother of five. …..a very  liberal, black atheist woman living in the very conservative, bible-loving state of South Carolina. Oh yeah, my husband is white. Not a big concern for most, but every now and then it can cause a minor major freakout –  so you’ve been warned. If you have a problem with interracial relationships, gay marriage, the separation of church and state, people who talk about their kids, and the occasional use of salty language, well then fuck off  tough shit  this blog is probably not for you. If you don’t have a problem with those things, I’m sure somebody somewhere is praying for you.     At any rate, I have been told that I have a way with words and some viewpoints that need to be shared , and I have also been told that I have sat on my happy size 3 black ass long enough – start that blog, dammit! So if this sucks, blame my cherished friends Becky, Joetta, and Deborah . They made me do it.  If it doesn’t suck, they’ll be doing some guest posting from time to time , and I’m sure you’ll come to love them as much as I do. You can thank them for prodding me later.

   Welcome to my crazy world.

Interesting stuff. I am a former gay man who got into Jesus. I am thinking different now trying to follow Him. It’s a whole new world. I have repented of my sins and I’m trying to be right in His eyes. The chains of bondage to sin have been broken.
I am no longer a slave to selfish desires. I will read and reply honestly. I will pray that you will consider checking out Jesus Christ. Would not hurt to pray. You never know.

I am a 55 year-old very liberal white woman living in beautiful Santa Barbara, California, and I think I am going to like your blog very much after having read your “about” page and post about Michelle Bachmann and breast pumps. Looking forward to reading past and future posts.

      Hello, Debra!
I was actually born near Santa Barbara…..I’ll always be a California Girl @heart! Keep passing those Doucheys…..they’re EVERYWHERE, aren’t they????

  4. I am a 43 year old gay man who spent a life time trying to prove I was not gay even though I was. I graduated with the author and knew of her through out our school years of middle and high school. She knew me when I was the out cast of the school and now she has become one of my best friends. I am glad we have reconnected and I support her and this blog.

I have been trying to start a blog of my own for many years. Afraid to tell the truth of who I am and the struggle I went through to get here has held me back. Thanks to this Crazy-Ass Liberal Black Woman for supporting me and loving me for who I am, I am now stepping out to start my blog.

She has inspired me and I support this blog. I may not always agree but that is okay because diversity and differing view points are important as long as we maintain maturity, understanding and respect for others and their differing opinions.

I look forward to future posts, readings and having her as a guest on my blog as well.

Your blog may just be a sanity saver… love your pov & the way you just call it out. I’m another 50-something liberal (old white broad) transplanted from SF bay area to rural colorado…between the bad drivers, tea baggers, bible thumpers, self-righteous hippie farmers who give me the stink eye when they see Kraft mac & cheese in my grocery cart, sheep and cows in the middle of the road, and people who can’t laugh at whats new because they don’t ‘own a televison machine’ …it’s getting to be downright social isolation. Glad to have found your site.

Denise, I couldn’t find an e-mail address anywhere here, so I dropped it here, out of the way. I just posted a piece on the word racism and racist over at my place. I’d really appreciate your input if you have the time. If I got something wrong, and didn’t explain it correctly, please do step in. I wouldn’t ask, but I think it’s a fairly important issue. It’s called “Do Words Matter? Yeah, They Kinda Do.” Posted Sept. 28.

  9. Excellent, I needed to increase the racial diversity of my blogosphere reading. You have some great reads here; look forward to many smart assed comments and perspectives. ;-)

  10. Denise,

It’s always fun finding intelligent, irreverent opinions on the web … especially when I agree with them (but also when I don’t, but that’s irrelevant, here, since the former is true) …

  13. Chris says:

Ahhhh so this is what you have been doing…. LOVE IT !!!!!

  14. emdoyle says:

I am not that good at wordpress. I love your blog. I’m not always able to answer because my brain can’t deal with the reality of everyday life. But I’ll pitch when I can.

  15. Digital Howie says:

You’re website is fantastic. I was married to a black woman. My racist Texas family said “nigger” in front of her so many times I can’t count them all. Did her family say racist shit to my face? NO. She, obviously, divorced me. I never blamed her for it. I woulda divorced me to. I wished I could divorce my family of assholes. In fact, I think my ex is one of the most wonderful human beings I’ve ever met. She’s went on to graduate from Texas Christian University with a 3.98 GPA in psychology and now works with children. She remarried, to another white dude, but they’re in a reconciliation at the moment. She had a gorgeous little girl with her second husband. I hate racists. I live in Fort Worth, Texas, one of the most racist cities in all of the entire world. Rednecks and Confederate flag stickers on their goddamn pick up trucks. My family is, of course, all Republicans. I pissed off my sister yesterday with links to FACTS about Willard “CEO High Priest Bishop Mormon Asshole” Romney. I told her she will be going to hell for voting for a fucking Mormon since she’s a so-called Christian. I’m an atheist like you. I’m surrounded by racists and so-called Christians. In fact, Tarrant County, Texas, is one of the reddest counties in all of America. I go onto my Facebook page and just rip the living shit out Willard Romney every chance I get and I get a lot of chances to do that. If a Teabagger comments on one of my posts I tell them FUCK YOU and block their asses. Romney? Fuck that pale ass honkie and his sickening cult. I voted for Obama the other day for the second time. I love Obama. But my vote is meaningless because Texans will overwhelmingly vote for the Mormon robot just like they voted for Bush for President (he stole both elections) and for Rick “Niggerhead Ranch” Perry for governor. We need more black people like you to shove it up white people’s puckered up asses. I HATE white people. I work for the federal government and my co-workers are a melting pot of everyone. So, over 25 years of federal service, I’ve realized one thing: no matter your race, creed or color you’re either an asshole or you’re not an asshole. Whites are mostly assholes and racist as hell. Blacks are cool. I’ve never had a problem with black co-workers but I’ve had plenty of trouble with white co-workers. They’re fuck tards. I work with Native Americans. I work with deaf people. I work with disabled people. I work with Iraq/Afghanistan veterans. I don’t know what I’m trying to say here but I just want to let you know this cracker honky motherfucker is on your side 100%. You go, girl!

Ah, so this is the place where it is OK to be yourself and speak your mind (As opposed to FB, where people can’t handle the truth. LOL.) GREAT BLOG Denise! Sorry to hear about your friend Shelly. Cancer sucks. Rick

What say you about this douchebaggery???
